Reckless Driving & its Effects

Reckless driving & its effects,

Driving is a work of so much responsibility. Many lives depend on it because the one who is driving on the road is responsible for his own and life of other road users. As everyone'ss life is precious for him/her & his/her family. So precious thing should be in responsible hand.

Our drivers & their training,

There is no principle to issue a driving licence in our country. There is no proper test system for granting the driving licence. As it is a work of responsibility so it should be granted to responsible hands.

The licence granting authorities are responsible for this problem. The proper test should be conducted by the licence issuing authority just like UAE. Proper training school should be opened in every district & all these schools should be registered. Trained drivers would be able to save the lives of road users. There would be fewer accidents on the roads. Driver must be educated. An educated driver would be able to understand the traffic laws & signs accurately. Unfortunately, we have uneducated drivers in the country and they are responsible for the deaths of the road users.

Reckless driving & accidents,

All the accidents are due to carelessness and reckless driving. Especially the public transport drivers are unaware of the road safety rules. They are uneducated that's why the can not read road traffic signs and unable to understand modern roads system. Young drivers commit rash driving to get more passengers and money, doing so they become the cause of accidents and deaths on roads. Roundabout 3600 people died in road accidents in 2019 in Pakistan. Parents don't pay any heed to their children activities. Rich people buy bikes and even cars for their children. Their children are free to use roads and their rides without any hesitation. Young biker commits one wheeling on roads which is a crime but nobody held them accountable and answerable. Law enforcement agencies don't take any action against these young men who belong to rich families. In Pakistan, rich people are considered untouchable. These untouchables are also the cause of road accidents. Authorities should be held everyone accountable and answerable.

A taxi driver who drives rashly on highways and doesn't show any care suddenly changes his driving attitude as he enters on the motorway. What is the reason for his changing attitude on the motorway, certainly the motorway police behaviour forces him to become a responsible driver. No relief should be given on any road to any road user? In this way, we would be able to save precious lives on roads.

How can we save lives?

We can save lives by punishing the lawbreakers on roads. Lawbreakers should be punished at the spot. Severe punishments would make road users more responsible on roads. It is the need of the hour to stop this way of using roads. The licence should be granted to educated people and responsible hands. Underage drivers should be discouraged by parents and society. Police should apply the law on everyone rich and poor equally. The vehicle should be inspected annually only vehicle in good condition should be allowed on roads. Uninspected vehicles should be banned permanently from using roads. Govt should repair damaged roads as soon as possible. Roads should be smooth for the smooth flow of traffic.

Let us hope for the best in future.
